I just got back from attending the absolutely phenomenal Great Blue Heron Music Festival in Sherman, NY. The festival is held on a farm called The Heron – which was the home for seven years of NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron. We decided to conclude NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron after seven seasons because our professional schedule is just too full. Other projects were suffering due to lack of attention and time. It was a tough, but right decision.
Walking through the Heron grounds during the festival, I’m was quickly reminded of all the wonderful people we will miss seeing each week. The land, the forest, the buildings were all an important part of our lives for seven summers. Dinners with Julie and Steve. Late night swimming in the pond. Walking the trails alone at the end of the night. Every aspect of the Heron made it fun and worth the almost two hour drive from our home. Each week we were excited about the possibilities and the people we’d meet.
