It’s with great sadness that we have to announce that the 2015 season of NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron was our final summer at in Sherman, NY. We had seven unbelievable years with our one-mile trail throughout the wonderful Heron property (home of the best festival around – Great Blue Heron Music Festival). The forest at The Heron was where NIGHT LIGHTS was conceived, built and inspired thousands of people.
We have seen growth every year with NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron. Unfortunately, it’s becoming a victim of a busy schedule of SitlerHQ LLC. and the rising success of NIGHT LIGHTS at Griffis Sculpture Park. Quite simply, we don’t have time to produce both shows.
We could’ve written a 10,000 word blog post how much we love The Heron’s owners, Steve and Julie Rockcastle. They opened up their land, their home, their friendship and more to help us produce NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron. They were wonderful business partners and even better people. Talk about people who make a difference in Western New York!
For seven years it was wonderful to support and host the best in local talent. Each week we enjoyed hiring bands and giving them a fun environment. Of course, we’ll never forget about the spectacular night in 2012 when 10,000 Maniacs played an amazing show on the Tiger Maple Stage. Out of NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron spawned two festivals: NIGHT LIGHTS Music Fest and Nights of Fire.
We had so many people join us on the mission of producing NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron. We are greatly indebted to a hundred people. If you’ve been with us in the middle of the woods at night with lights on, you know who you are. Together, we created some unforgettable memories.
Thank you again. We hope to see you in the fall at Griffis Sculpture Park.
